Course Description

In this course, students receive instruction in academic reading and writing, including writing processes, effective use of language, analytical thinking, and the foundations of academic research. This course includes embedded support. Integrates a variety of embedded support activities including and not limited to dedicated reading and writing tutoring with Panther Lab tutors, additional time for group work, usage conventions review, self-reflection/self-assessments, and focused individual interventions to support student success. Readings selected are from a variety of cultural contexts. Not open to students who have completed ENGL C1000 with a grade of C or better.
